March Feature Menu: Viva South America!
Our Viva South America! menu includes some of amazing flavors from the unique and exciting cuisines of Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, and Brazil. Indigenous crops like corn, potatoes, aji (spicy peppers), lime, and quinoa take center stage in these flavorful and balanced dishes. You'll be sure to forget the frigid Pennsylvania weather as you enjoy these features.
One runaway favorite from last year was our Peruvian Red Snapper: pan-fried, cornmeal encrusted red snapper fillet sautéed with red onion, tomato, avocado, jalapeños, cilantro, & pisco (Peruvian brandy), and served with Papa a la Huancaína-potatoes with a classic yellow aji cheese sauce. "Exquisite!" and "Out of this world!" were two rave reviews about this dish from last year's diners. Other must-try dishes include the Aji de Gallina, a spicy chicken & rice soup inspired by a popular entrée of the same name; the Argentinian Filet Mignon Chimichurri with quinoa flan; and the Caipirinha, Brazil's national cocktail.
Our Viva South America! menu will be available through the end of March in addition to our full lunch and dinner menus. Platos (entrées) will be available after 4:30pm daily; the rest of the menu will be available all day. And, we even have a pronunciation guide to assist!
We just wanted to take moment to say congratulations to all of the THON community for the phenomenal and exemplary job this year and for the $13,026,653.23 raised! It's an amazing philanthropy to have as part of our local community, and we love to see the spirit of the student population who run it all.
We had the opportunity to feel even closer to THON's endeavors this year through participation and donation. A member of the Harrison's family was in the middle of the excitement as a Dancer Relations Committee Member (one of the volunteers who supports a dancer both physically and emotionally throughout THON so they can endure the arduous task of hanging in for 46 hours straight). We were excited to see him doing a great job on the live feed! And on Sunday morning, Harrison's donated 10% of all Friday & Saturday lunch and dinner sales to THON -- thanks to all the guests who joined us to make it happen.
We look forward to continuing THON pride as our students continue to grow the world's largest and most impressive student run philanthropy. FTK
