Asparagus Season in PA
May is the high season for asparagus in Pennsylvania, and we've been getting some lovely asparagus from Tait Farm these past couple of weeks. Queen Nefertiti allegedly proclaimed asparagus to be a food of the Gods, and we couldn't agree more: the crispness and unique flavor of fresh asparagus (and especially Tait Farm asparagus) is incomparable.

Summertime & Menus
The warm weather finally seems like it's here to stay, and our menu changes are now in place to reflect the season. You'll find some new selections, such as in our small plates section: we've added a Baked Local Feta and Olives with artisan Gemelli crostini and our Spicy Local Pork Tostada with house-made tostada triangles and a fresh, zingy slaw. We're bringing back our Grilled Sea Bass with Lobster Butter served with our fresh local vegetable for the perfect light, summer seafood entrée, and we're introducing our local Bacon & Cheddar Panini featuring fresh tomatoes from the farm and incredibly delicious Gemelli artisan bread. Check out the rest of the menu for some summery surprises to delight your taste buds in these warmer times.
We recommend coming now to try these new items and the amazing May asparagus (quantities may be limited!) because we have a fabulous summer of features starting in June that will keep you busy with so many delicious choices. The feature menus from 2014 are online if you want to plan ahead for the flavors of fresh, local produce all summer, and of Soft-Shell and Lump Crab features in June, Day Boat Scallops in July, and the much-anticipated return of our Summer Italian / Isle of Capri menu in August.
Butternut Squash Bisque: Here 'Til Memorial Day!
Our Roasted Butternut Squash Bisque is the most inquired after and highly sought-after soup and possibly the most popular menu item at Harrison's. After many years, we've decided to put it on its own schedule because of its extreme popularity: from now on, we'll be serving it until Memorial Day each spring and we'll be bringing it back on Labor Day, after it takes a brief sabbatical during the hottest months of the year.
So, when you're ready to put away your white shoes and linen at the end of the summer, remember: Harrison's Butternut Squash Bisque is available again!
And for now, you have through this upcoming weekend to enjoy it one last time.
