December Features: Harrison's for the Holidays
The holidays are a time for celebration and indulgence, and our December menu this year offers some special features that will feed your holiday spirit.
We’ve changed our holiday menu up from last year, keeping some of the favorites, but bringing aboard some new dishes to help you celebrate. A sneak peek at some of the items… Beef Tenderloin Crostini with horseradish cream & cranberry relish; Thai Shrimp Cakes with red curry dip; Lobster Bisque; Proscuitto & Pear Stuffed Chicken Breast with Prosecco Beurre Blanc; Pecan-Crusted Salmon withpecan butter; Grilled Vegetable Lasagna, a returning favorite from years past!
And never pass up desserts during the holidays! We’ll be featuring two seasonal specialties from Sweet Indulgence Desserts: Deep South Egg Nog Cake and the popular Pumpkin Praline Cheesecake.
Our features begin tonight at 5pm, and will be available daily through December. Starters and desserts will be available all day, and entrees will be available after 4:30pm daily. Come in to enjoy Harrison’s for the Holidays!
Going Local for the Holidays
You know we like to go local whenever possible here at Harrison’s, and the Christmas season is no different. While it’s a little more difficult to get some local foods during December, there are other items that are readily available from local producers and organizations—Christmas decorations!
This year, we visited Tannenbaum Farm in Centre Hall for the first time to get our Christmas trees for Harrison’s and Above the Valley. What a great place! They have acres upon acres upon acres of trees from which to choose, in any shape and size you want. You cut it down yourself, and they shake the loose needles out and tie it up for you, all with a smile. You can even tag your tree and come back later to cut it. We are always happy to support a business that is owned and operated by a local family. Come dine at Harrison’s this December, and you’ll get to see our decorated Tannenbaum tree! We also love poinsettias and look forward each year to filling our dining room with the vibrant red variety. For years, we have been getting them from Nittany Valley Symphony’s Poinsettia Sale Fundraiser. They provide us with beautiful holiday decorations from family-owned Frysville Farms in Ephrata, PA (not quite local, but not too far off!)
Do you have your own ways of going local for the holidays? Let us know! We’d love to hear them!
