Penn State Graduation, May 5-7: A Note to Our Lovely Locals
We love you, you know we do, Harrison’s customers. We tell you all the time. In fact, it would make us THE happiest if each and every one of you visited us once a day, every day. That is, every day except for the three days of Penn State’s Spring Commencement ceremonies. For those three days, we are telling you to stay away. It’s for your own good!
Penn State Spring Graduation. You know what it means: thousands of out-of-town visitors flooding town, booked hotels for miles out, high stress levels, and frantic drivers attempting to navigate through a town and campus they don’t know. And crazy restaurants.
For these three days, we are far busier than we usually are, taking care of Penn State grads and their families and friends. We’re proud of our graduates and look forward to serving them and their families’ great meals to help celebrate their commencement. But it’s a different atmosphere around here on those three days, and one that’s very different from most other days of the year. For our local customers who are used to their usual relaxed Harrison’s dining experiences, we suggest postponing any visits for May 5, May 6, and May 7…and visiting us very soon after!
To give you a run down of Penn State Graduation Weekend this year, here are a few details:
Friday, May 5: Dinner time is currently booked solid with reservations. We will most likely not have a table available for anyone who walks in, and prep times for carry-out orders may be longer than usual.
Saturday, May 6: This is the biggest day of all for Penn State Graduation, with ceremonies for different Colleges running throughout the day. A prix fixe dinner menu begins at noon and our regular menus are not available. Carry-out will not be available on this day.
Sunday, May 7: The dinner menu begins at noon and earlier daytime reservations are likewise very limited due to the morning commencement ceremonies. We still have some tables available for dinner time on Sunday, but will likely not have space for long due to graduation groups continuing to call for reservations. Prep time for carry-out orders may be longer than usual.
Like we said, we love you, we want to see you, but we want what’s best for you too. See you May 8th!
