July Feature: Day Boat Scallops
The term "day boat" scallops refer to the boats that fish for scallops just for the day, rather than the traditional method of dredging for up to 10 days before returning to harbor. Buyers meet the boats at the dock and buy big bags of sweet, fresh Atlantic sea scallops--then rush them off to restaurants and seafood stores.
We'll be preparing our Day Boat Scallops five different ways this July. Try them herb-and-panko-crusted with local Byler Dairy goat cheese, or sautéed with fresh tomato and garlic in our Scallops Fresca, or gratinéed in the decadent French classic, Coquilles St. Jacques--see the menu for more. Whichever you try, these big, tender scallops are an irresistible annual favorite at Harrison's.
Our Day Boat Scallops features will be offered every day after 4:30pm through July in addition to our full lunch and dinner menus.
