Harrison’s Catering has unparalleled experience in creating memorable tastes in countless menus over our tenure as Best Caterer since 2004. By getting to know you, we will be able to best help you create a menu that is an expression of who you are as a couple and serve it in the style that best fits your chosen venue. Additionally, we take care in understanding special dietary needs for you and your guests and can include vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free options.
So where do we begin? What about you and your tastes? Decisions about the venue and time of day may naturally influence your menu. For food-savvy couples, peruse our sample menus to see what dishes or combinations of tastes inspire you. These menus are more general and not wedding specific, and we will assist you with making the changes needed.
Already have all the details nailed down? Then let’s get planning! Submit An Inquiry and tell us about your wedding! Once the information is received, we will be back in touch to dig into the details a little deeper. And, some further clarification for those of you looking for a place to hold your wedding: Harrison's offers food and service catering to your chosen venue, as well as, at our own venue, Above the Valley Event Center.
MENU IDEASThere are many details your wedding guests will forget days or weeks after the reception. What won't they forget easily? A great meal. (They also won't forget a not-so-great meal!) Yes, we’re a little biased that the food might be the most important thing, so here we share various menu styles to see what makes your mouth water and to help you consider the options without feeling overwhelmed by all of the choices we make available. In addition to a few menu ideas below, view our sample wedding menus.
Classic Menus - These menus are tried and true favorites made extraordinarily for the more conservative palate. When you are feeding a large group with such varied tastes and want to include all, try traditional fare like Vineyard Chicken and Salmon Beurre Blanc or Grilled Pesto Chicken, BBQ Brisket, and 4-Cheese Baked Pasta (v).
Creative Menus - If a more contemporary menu interests you, these fresh, more unexpected ideas may inspire you. Think globally inspired, chef's creations, or local and seasonal foods or eclectic mix & mingle stations. Let us know your interests, and we’ll let you know if it is within our area of expertise and possible at your venue. Ideas include Lemon-Proscuitto Chicken, Sesame-Crusted Salmon and Gnocchi Fagiole (v) or Beef Bourguignon, Crab Cakes, and Athenian Pasta Primavera.
Wine Country Menu – One of our favorites! A Wine Country menu is a laid-back spread of upscale foods arranged beautifully on platters for people to share and enjoy. Part upscale picnic and part lavish buffet, it incorporates refined and balanced flavor combinations in an easy casual format. The platters are meant to be visited again and again, for sampling of signature Harrison’s combinations while enjoying the energy of a mix and mingle gathering. And of course, it is enjoyed even more with wine! Platters (served at room temperature) might include Mango Salsa with Tostada Triangles, Grilled Chicken with local goat cheese and Fig & Olive Relish, Beautifully Poached Salmon, Grilled Balsamic Beef with grilled asparagus, Caesar Salad, Quinoa Provencal plus mini crab cakes, baked brie, spanikopita and freshly baked bread. If the budget allows, a sumptuous platter of beef tenderloin with horseradish sour cream is a real crowd pleaser.
Casual Menu - Menu ideas for a more casual reception are endless and can range from thrifty to pricey, but always tasty. It means a comfortable occasion vibe and often has a country or rustic theme tied to the reception. Many barn nuptials enjoy this option. Think Chef’s Mac & Cheese & Pulled Pork Barbecue or a hearty Turkey & Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes meal. Other ideas include an upscale picnic, a full BBQ menu, or Salads with Kabobs from the grill.
